Why should I purchase a strap or bag and strap system from OxyComfort as I already have an oxygen carrier bag supplied to me with my oxygen tank setup from my Home Oxygen supplier? Your current oxygen carrier bag and strap probably does not do anything for you in the way of comfort like our products do. With OxyComfort bags and straps, you will feel less of the weight on your shoulder making it easier to wear your portable oxygen on a daily basis promoting longer wear time, greater mobility, and an improved life style.
Why will I feel less weight when wearing an OxyComfort Strap or Bag and Strap System? OxyComfort Straps, whether used as a retrofit on existing oxygen carrier bags or as part of an OxyComfort Bag and Strap System, stretch or flex with the load to relieve the harsh tug or pull against your shoulder reducing the feel of the oxygen tank's weight.
My oxygen carrier bag is always slipping off my shoulder. How do OxComfort products overcome this problem? OxyComfort Staps utilize a non skid backing that greatly resists sliding and stay on the shoulder very well even when a patient bends or twists to the side
Why are OxyComfort Straps and Bag and Strap Systems made from neoprene? Neoprene is a closed cell foam rubber that is backed by nylon fabric on both sides. It is therefore soft and comfortable yet strong while being easy to sanitize and clean by washing with mild detergent and let drip dry.
How can I use an OxyComfort Strap on my existing bag? OxyComfort Straps use a common snap hook at each end that easily attaches to standard D-rings or triangle style rings used on most portable oxygen carrier bags today.
My oxygen bag's strap only has a snap hook at one end and the other end is sewn into the bag. How can I use an OxyComfort Strap with this bag? You can make an attachment point for the OxyComfort Strap by cutting off the end of the old strap that is sewn in leaving about a 6 inch piece that is still sewn to the bag. This 6 inch piece is then passed through a triangle ring and triglide buckle that we will supply to you if you have this situation. This then allows the OxyComfort Strap to be attached to your bag at both ends.
I use a "doughnut style" conserving regulator that is quite wide in size. Will this type of regulator fit in an OxyComfort Bag and Strap System? Some types of conserving regulators will not fit in an OxyComfort Bag and Strap System due to their width. Contact OxyComfort for application advice on particular models of conserving regulators
I use a portable liquid oxygen system. Can an OxyComfort Strap be used to reduce the feeling of its weight? Yes it can. If your portable liquid oxygen tank is in a bag that has D-rings or triangle rings, you can attach an OxyComfort Strap to lessen the feeling of its weight. Other styles of portable liquid oxygen tanks do not use a bag but have a strap that attaches directly to the tank housing or thread through a slit in a bracket that is attached to it. Contact OxyComfort for adivce on how to attach one of its straps to this type of system.
How does my cannula exit from the OxyComfort Bag and Strap System? The cannula exits between the dual zippers that can be positioned at any point around the periphery of the mesh window on the bag. This is very convenient for positioning the cannula when wearing the bag on the right or left shoulders.
Why doesn't the OxyComfort Bag and Strap System have a pocket for my cylinder wrench? OxyComfort elected not to provide a pocket for cylinder wrenches in order to keep the bag sleek and more stylish. Cylinder wrenches can be stored inside the regulator area of the bag using a key chain type of tether around the neck of the cylinder. There is also room for extra cannula length to be coiled up and stored in that area.
